The public is now being asked to use their discretion and refrain from travelling out during this weather.
The Ministry of Works and Transport said they are asking parents to ensure that their children do not go out.
Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete said at the moment due to rising flood waters, certain roads have been closed off to the public while the main bridge to upper Naitasiri the Naqali Bridge is expected to be closed soon.
Waqainabete also added that they have stopped all government shipping services as well as advising other shipping services to do the same.
The Fiji Retailers Association President Himmat Lodhia has also asked retailers to use their own discretion on whether or not to open today due to the weather situation.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) Office will be closed today due to the weather situation.
FRU Operations Manager Vili Rinavuaka has confirmed they will not open today.
