The General Manager Western Health Services confirms that Rakiraki hospital receives 3 to 4 cases of diarrhea everyday due to the contaminated water supply.
Doctor Tharid Ali said Rakiraki area is the worst affected and health inspectors have started going to the communities and calling on people to boil drinking water.
Meanwhile Ali also added that Health Ministry is also assisting them through provision of drugs.
Health Authorities confirm that they have 12 confirmed cases of typhoid so far due to the contaminated water supply.
