The Public Accounts Committee has made public their Thirteenth Report (Audit of Volume 2 Part 1 General Administration Sector - 2004) which covers 14 ministries and departments which also includes the Office of the President, Prime Minister and Attorney-General.

The Committee stated that some of the common concerns included outstanding leave owed to most staff, with the consolidation of all the leave liabilities being too expensive for government to pay, the non-clearance of accountable advances and dishonoured cheques, non-compliance of supplies and services instructions and shirking of responsibilities.

The Committee said they were frustrated in the progress of their work and took longer than usual because of the frequent interruptions brought about by the unscheduled movement of support staff which was further aggravated by Ministries/Departments requesting deferment of their respective interviews.

The Committee was guided by the Auditor-General's Report and held thirty meetings for this report.
