The Public Accounts Committee has raised concern on how the government paid for a Fiji Sports Council loan which was taken from the Fiji National Provident Fund back in 2002.

In it's latest report on the 2007 accounts, the Accounts Committee said the government as the guarantor was forced to pay Fiji Sports Council's debt to FNPF with the initial payment of $321,000.

Accounts Committee member, Taufa Vakatale said the problem is that there was no loan agreement between the Fiji Sports Council and the government for the 'bailing out' effort by the government.
