Provincial Councils should not be involved in the activities of the Provincial Companies.

These are the sentiments of Accountant Iowane Naiveli in his presentation today at the Provincial and Tikina Companies Workshop at the Holiday Inn.

Naiveli added that Provincial Councils should just be involved with the education of culture and other developments in their areas adding that their audited accounts should be submitted to the Council of Chiefs meeting.

Naiveli also said that Provincial Companies should be better managed in the paying of taxes to the government because this contributes to the maintenance of roads and development in and around villages.

Lawyer Richard Naidu, also present at the workshop reminded the Directors of the Provincial and Tikina Councils that it is important to manage their companies well.
