“All players that prove themselves will be given a chance to train with the Vodafone Fiji 7s squad”.

This was highlighted by Coach Ben Ryan after veteran play maker Emosi Vucago was recalled to march into camp with the team yesterday.

When asked by Fijivillage if Vucago was brought in to fill in for the playmaker's position, the former England coach said he wants more depth in the squad.

Ryan added that he welcomes players competing for different positions but he is likely to retain the core of his squad for the next leg of the IRB World Series in Tokyo and Hong Kong.

Ryan has never tasted victory in Hong Kong and during his five-year reign as coach of the England 7s team, he has managed to reach one Cup final in 2011.

When asked if Fiji stands a strong chance of making it three in a row in Happy Valley, this is what Ben Ryan had to say.

Meanwhile, Fiji has won the Hong Kong 7s title twice in a row under the guidance of Alifereti Dere.

We won in 2012 and 2013.

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team marches into another weeklong camp today as they prepare for the Tokyo 7s which is scheduled for the 22nd and 23rd of next month and the Hong Kong 7's will be held a week later.
