Proposed NFP and SODELPA accept anomalies in party registration
In an official statement, Saneem said the proposed NFP has acknowledged that some of its registered members also belong to other proposed political groups.
While they have denied allegations of impersonating government officials in Kadavu, Saneem said the proposed NFP accepts that 25 listed members have also registered either as members of the proposed SODELPA or the proposed Fiji Labour Party.
Official of the proposed NFP, Raman Pratap Singh said they are not at fault as a small number of people registered in more than one proposed party.
Singh said they are answering all the queries and are now waiting for the Registrar’s decision.
In the case of the proposed SODELPA, Saneem said the anomalies include members who are registered twice or even three times, members who are also listed as belonging to other proposed parties and names that do not exist in the National Register of Voters.
The Registrar said these anomalies were acknowledged by officials after they were granted access to the National Register.
Pio Tabaiwalu of the proposed SODELPA said they do not want to go into detail on the alleged anomalies as they will await the Registrar’s decision.
Saneem said no decision will be made on the applications of the proposed parties until all the particulars are in.
