The Public Service Commission said it will not discuss publicly whether there are proposals to close down certain schools as a cost cutting measure.
It has been highlighted that the Education Ministry is now taking steps to make a decision on the proposed closure of Laucala Bay Secondary School after a recommendation by PSC.
PSC permanent secretary Parmesh Chand said cabinet will make the final decision on these issues and the matter will be made public when this is done.
Education Minister Filipe Bole is expected to comment later.
