Reds prop James Slipper said they want to beat the Crusaders this weekend and win the Super Rugby title for outgoing coach Ewen McKenzie.

The Reds boss will take over the Wallabies for the Rugby Championship straight after the Super Rugby season and new re-signings Liam Gill, James Slipper and Rob Simmons said they are determined to send McKenzie out a winner.

The Reds have enjoyed some success against the Crusaders in recent years and have won their last three matches against them in Brisbane including the 2011 Super Rugby final.

However, their last six visits to Christchurch have all ended in defeat as their last victory in the city was in 1999.

The Reds face the Crusaders at 7.35pm this Saturday while in the second playoff, the Brumbies will host the Cheetahs at 6.10pm Sunday.
