Speaker of Parliament, Doctor Jiko Luveni has today referred a matter to the Parliamentary Privileges Committee regarding NFP parliamentarian, Tupou Draunidalo using offensive words in parliament when Education Minister, Doctor Mahendra Reddy was speaking in the house yesterday.
Draunidalo made the comments after Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum raised a point of order.
Doctor Luveni said she has analysed the matter after it was brought to her attention by Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
The Speaker is expecting the report from the Privileges Committee tomorrow after a meeting today.
Parliament will consider the report tomorrow.
Fijivillage had approached Doctor Mahendra Reddy after the comments were made in parliament by Draunidalo yesterday.
He said that he did not want to say anything.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum did not want to make any comments at that stage.
