Private investigators have been brought in to relook at the Maritime Board's initial investigation report into the sinking of the MV Bawaqa.
Transport Ministry Spokeswoman Sainiana Waqainabete said some discrepancies arose in the report that was handed in last week and they have referred the matter to the investigators.
Transport Minister Col Timoci Natuva has referred the matter to the investigations with a deadline by the end of this month.
The vessel Bawaqa on the 14th September ran aground off the reefs of Viwa Island in the Yasawas.
