About five prisoners and a prison officer are in hospital following a brawl at the Maximum Security Prison in Naboro last week.
This has been confirmed by a prison official and Fijivillage understands that the prisoners allegedly had an argument with a prison officer and later attacked him.
The alarm was raised and prison officers arrived in numbers and rushed inside the maximum security prison to try and control the situation, resulting in a few of those involved ending up in hospital.
The exact details and reasons are not known at this stage.
Prisons Media Liaison Officer Orisi Katonibau said he will give the details later today on the matter.
