The Principal Prison Officer believes that prisoners should be given a second chance as most of them are victims of circumstances.

Sevuloni Naucukidi said prisoners deserve a chance so that they can also contribute to nation building.

Naucukidi added that the Prison Correctional Service has conducted various courses and they hope to achieve the Commissioner's target of 80% of staff to be computer literate, as the intention of the Commissioner of Prisons for this year is to be a year of learning and training.

A computer lab has also been set up at the training school in Naboro with an ex-Marist scholar donating ten computers.

The Fiji Prisons Correctional Service is also engaged in the Yellow Ribbon programme.
