Police have today confirmed that a prisoner escaped from the Korovou Prison on Sunday night.
Assistant Police spokesperson, Sergeant Suliano Tevita said the prisoner on the run is Viliame Gauna, who was a remand prisoner at Korovou Prison and escaped on Sunday night.
Tevita is calling on members of the public to come forward with information that will help in Gauna's arrest.
Tevita has reiterated that it is an offence to harbour escaped prisoners and anyone caught doing so will be taken to task.
