The Interim Attorney General has clarified that rumours of a mass prison breakout are just that, rumours.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, in an interview with Fijivillage said they have been briefed and so far all is well.
These comments come after it was reported that there were rumours of a mass prison breakout which resulted in a lockdown at the Naboro Prison and individual cells searched for possible contraband.
It was also reported that Deputy Prisons Commissioner Orisi Katonibau confirmed a lockdown was part of security measures.
