Printing company owner on the run
Deputy Director Police Operations SP Erami Raibe confirmed to Fijivillage this afternoon that the owner has been missing since Friday and it is alleged that the books were being sold in Labasa.
Meanwhile, Suva Bookshop Manager Shahida said that people should stop making copies of any books that do not belong to them.
Her comments come after a Lautoka based printing press was raided on Friday afternoon, for allegedly printing books breaching copyright issues.
Shahida said alot of effort is being put by them into compile a book.
Suva Book shop, who has the exclusive copyright to sell certain text books, found out from members of the public that the same books were being sold by a company in Lautoka.
Acting Divisional Crime Officer Western, ASP Manasa Talala has confirmed that a raid was carried out and copies of text books have been confiscated. Police are now trying to establish certain facts before proceeding with investigations.
Meanwhile, ASP Manasa Talala is urging video libraries to refrain from making copies of original movies after a video shop was raided in Main Street Lautoka yesterday afternoon.
ASP Talala said they raided the video shop and seized 700 DVD's believed to be pirate adding that they are now working on complains coming from the dealers.
