The Principal of a secondary school in Nasinu has denied claims
by some parents that the school is not allowing students to proceed to form 6 who have attained low marks in Form 5 last year.

According to parents about 15 students were told to go home from the school if they did not wish to repeat form five.

However, Bhawani Dayal Arya College Principal Ajay Nand said one of the students only attained 95 out of 500 marks in form 5 last year and was requesting to be allowed to proceed to form 6 this year.

Nand said they do not allow this and told the student to repeat form 5 however the students took clearance from the school and left the premises themselves.

Nand also said a particular student was absent for 54 days out of 180 days last year and failed his form 5 examination who also asked the school to promote him to form 6 which was not allowed.

He reiterated that the school is not sending any student home.
