Primary school students around the country have started getting their de-worming tablets from today.
The Health Ministry started the National Micro-nutrient Supplementation Program in partnership with the Education Ministry and UNICEF to see that students from 6 years to 15 years are healthy and do not get sick easily.
Health Ministry's spokesperson Iliesa Tora said the students will be getting de-worming and vitamin tablets spread across the three terms.
Tora said that the step has been taken to save the future generation from getting sick from an early age.
Tora said that the Health Ministry is depending on the support of parents and guardians to ensure that the program is successful as children will only be given tablets if the parents and guardians agree to it.
