Six hundred and seventy seven primary school teachers around the country have been promoted recently.
Education Minister, Filipe Bole said over the years, these teachers have been acting on positions of responsibility to ensure the students get the best education.
Out of these 677, 421 will be on contract while 256 have been confirmed on their posts.
The Minister hopes that these promotions should rejuvenate teachers’ efforts to strive for excellence in the classroom.
The Public Service Commission, at its meeting on 28th June 2010, approved the regularization of acting appointments of officers acting on various substantively vacant positions, within the Ministry's approved establishment.
