A Secondary School teacher and a Priest are in custody at the Labasa Police Station for allegedly assaulting a student during classes.
Police Media Liaison Officer Atunaisa Sokomuri had confirmed the two were arrested and taken into custody.
He said the two have been charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm.
They are expected to appear in the Labasa Magistrates court this morning.
The two allegedly assaulted the student after he was found talking to his girlfriend during classes. The student who sustained serious injuries and became unconscious was rushed to hospital where he was admitted for a few days.
