With the Queensland Maroons vying for an unprecedented eighth straight series victory, pressure on the New South Wales Blues to end the streak has never been higher.

According to Maroons legend Petero Civoniceva, the first team that loses its cool will end up losing the match tonight.

Civoniceva said it is the team that can stay calm for 80 minutes and not let the emotion get to them that will be the deciding factor on who will be successful on the night.

Game 3 and the deciding match of the State of Origin between the NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons kicks off tonight at 10.
