The President’s Office has remained silent on concerns being raised by a political party on the independence of the team appointed to see the work of the NCBBF and the People’s Charter process.

The President’s Official Secretary, Rupeni Nacewa said he would not comment on the matter where National Federation Party’s General Secretary, Pramod Rae questioned the appointment of Geert Van Der Linden as the chair of the Independent Monitoring Group.

Nacewa also refused to comment on whether the President’s Office has received a proposal from the NCBBF for changes to to Fiji's current Electoral Act.

Nacewa said he would not comment on whether the NCCBF has requested that a Forum be set up to will deliberate on the proposed move.
