President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau began his visit to the province of Lau following a traditional welcoming ceremony at Vanuabalavu this morning.
The visit to the Lau Group is part of the President's intention to visit the fourteen provinces of Fiji including Rotuma.
Ratu Epeli Nailatikau is accompanied by the Commissioner Eastern, Colonel Ifereimi Vasu and government officials.
On Vanuabalavu, he visited the ice plant at Malaka village, Adi Maopa Secondary Schools and Lomaloma Health Centre.
He is scheduled to visit Nayau and Lakeba on Wednesday, Vanuavatu and Oneata on Thursday, Moce and Kabara on Friday, Fulaga and Vatoa on Saturday, Onoi Lau on Sunday and Matuku on Monday.
