The President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau in his speech to the students at Vanuavatu District School in Lau, to try and work hard and come for further education to Viti Levu.

Vanuavatu District School Chairman, Joji Mate said that Ratu Epeli told them that they had to look beyond Vanuavatu, as they experienced first-hand the difficulties they faced in the village, and the generation that existed now should try and take the village forward.

Mate said he is adamant that the students on Vanuavatu have the potential to pass bigger exams, however they need better facilities and equipment to make teaching easier for the teachers.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Eastern Colonel Ifereimi Vasu has agreed to assist in building two huge water tanks on a hill to source water for the whole village, a project that will save the Government $20,000 that is used to cart drinking water by boat, from Suva to Vanuavatu.

The President will be in Moce and Kabara today.
