President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau believes relations between Fiji and the Chinese government will reach greater heights in the coming years.
Ratu Epeli made this comment during the official opening of the new Chinese Embassy at Queen Elizabeth Drive in Suva this afternoon.
While commenting on the elegance surrounding the Embassy situated at the seafront, Ratu Epeli said government and the people of Fiji and China should be proud.
Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador Dr Han Zhiqiang stressed that the Chinese government is looking at developing more friendly relations with Fiji and other Pacific nations.
The new complex is situated in an area of 11,000 square metres which is designed and constructed by Chinese contractors.
The complex also comprises of staff quarters and a swimming pool.
Construction was complete in less than 20 months.
