The president of the Fiji Muslim League hopes that good sense and understanding will always prevail and employers give time off to their Muslim employees during Eid.

Hafiz Khan said he knows that it is impractical to have a public holiday for Eid as the day of the festival is decided after the sighting of the moon.

He said with this in mind, they had earlier agreed with the government that the Prophet Mohammed's Birthday be the public holiday for the Muslims in Fiji.
