President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau has appealed to everyone to approach the 2014 elections with a spirit of good will.

In his national Fiji Day address, Ratu Epeli said now in the 43rd year since independence and after 3 previous constitutions, we finally have a constitution on which to build one nation, one Fiji.

He said it allows us to conduct elections based on the best practices that is free, fair and credible and that is enjoyed by countries around the world.
 
He said before next year’s Fiji Day, our constitution will take us to the first genuinely democratic parliamentary elections.

He added only with unity can there be prosperity.
