President Ratu Josefa Iloilo this afternoon thanked the NCBBF members for their comprehensive work and said he appreciated their efforts as he was handed the final version of the People’s Charter.

After beginning their work on the Draft People's Charter late last year and completing it two weeks ago, the National Council for Building a Better Fiji this afternoon presented the final revised People's Charter to the President with the delegation led by Co-Chairs Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama and Catholic Church Head Archbishop Petero Mataca.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Archbishop informed the President that after months of consultative work around the country and a series of meetings and visits to the people, the NCBBF's work has now been accomplished with the final product and recommendations now in his hands.

In reply, after thanking the group for their work, Ratu Iloilo said that he hoped that the Charter would be widely accepted by the people and would unite Fiji.

Meanwhile, NCBBF Technical Assistance and Support Secretariat Head John Samy said it is all now for the President to decide on what will happen next.
