President Not Misled: Adi Finau
Adi Finau said the National Council decided as a whole that it needed to speak to the President to call a forum to talk about electoral reforms in Fiji.
She said it was totally disrespectful to the President for the SDL party to say that Ratu Josefa Iloilo is being manipulated by members of the NCBBF.
The SDL party said President Ratu Josefa Iloilo has been ill-advised by members of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji after he approved the urgent call by the NCBBF to convene a forum to discuss the steps needed to reform Fiji's electoral system.
SDL National Director Peceli Kinivuai said it was a concern that the highest office of the land has been manipulated by members of NCCBF and the Interim Government.
In a special meeting held on April 15th, the NCBBF had passed the resolution for all key stakeholders including all the political parties, to discuss the steps needed to reform Fiji's electoral system to conform with the principles enunciated with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Acting PM Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said that action will now be taken, as necessary and appropriate, to convene the proposed forum as soon as possible.
Kinivuwai said SDL will not be part of this forum.
