A child not knowing their mother tongue is an issue that is overlooked these days however over the next 10 to 20 years a Fiji without a sense of culture is a Fiji we may have to encounter.
This is one of the main concerns to be highlighted by the students of St Agnes Primary School tomorrow at the FM 96 Tadra Kahani with TFL and Legend FM with their theme "Our Culture and Heritage - Our Future" as they try to educate their peers that it is vital to preserve one's culture otherwise there won't be one.
Head Teacher Simione Walolo said with changes constantly occuring in our country, aspects of our heritage which is our culture is also changing, adding the future will be bleak if we do not preserve our culture today.
The Nabua based school will be taking part in Tadra Kahani for the 1st time and will compete with nine other schools for the Junior Division title tomorrow night at the Vodafone arena.
