Sometimes referred to as redgold, prawn farming could just be the answer for people who are willing to work hard and venture into the million dollar industry.
While you find prawns on the menu in restaurants, hotels and resorts around the country, the interim agriculture minister said there is still simply not enough to meet the demand especially in the tourism sector.
Joketani Cokanasiga said through the Ministries Prawn Farming program the established farmers are now reaping the benefits.
Cokanasiga said others are being given an opportunity to tap into the market as the Ministry will help those interested set up the prawn farm.
