Former Finance Permanent Secretary, John Prasad has been appointed the acting Chief Executive of the Fiji Sugar Corporation.

FSC Interim Chairman, Marika Gaunavou in a statement said that FSC board has resolved to appoint Prasad to act as Chief Executive officer for three months with the responsibility of implementing the Delloite report.

Gaunavou said John Prasad will be acting in the position pending the appointment of a suitable candidate after the normal recruitment processes is complied with.

His appointment follows the resignation of Deo Sharan as FSC CEO last Friday.

Meanwhile, it was earlier confirmed that the Delloite has made a number of recommendations on how to improve the operations and performs of the Fiji Sugar Corporation and increase production levels.

The Delliot report has not been made public.
