Ratepayers can save more than $2million dollars if they practice composting.

This had been confirmed by the Suva City Council (SCC) who said two years ago, the Council collected 24,500 tons of solid waste which cost them and ratepayers $2.77 million.

SCC Director Health Services Nacanieli Kotoiwasawasa said the Council is now seriously looking at and using composting on a large scale, as the best alternative of Solid Waste management.
