The Fiji Electricity Authority (FEA) said they will only restore power to affected areas once they have done a thorough check of a certain grid that there are no broken power lines in the area.
Chief Executive Hasmukh Patel said this will take some time.
Yesterday our reporters noticed some residents of Sakoca in Tacirua trying to move and fix the broken power lines that were on the roads. We have photos of people climbing the FEA poles and touching the wires and the electrical connections.
Patel is calling on people not to touch any broken lines as it could result in the loss of lives.
