Newly crowned Pacific Games 84kg women’s power lifting gold medalist Elesi Ikanidrodro believes her hard work has finally paid off.
Ikanidrodro was awarded the Pacific Games gold medal earlier today after initially winning silver last year in New Caledonia.
She was awarded the gold after positive doping cases at the Noumea games which resulted in the Pacific Games Council amending the results of relevant competitions.
The 27-year-old said she knew all along that the gold medal will be hers.
Another national weightlifter Ana Garnett was awarded a bronze medal and surfer Ian Muller received a silver medal.
The guilty Pacific Games athletes have been banned for two years.
