Most parts of Tavua and Rakiraki are without power supply this moring.
The Fiji Electricity Authority conformed that due to a fault in a transformer at Tavua Substation, Bulolo, Tavua Town, Tavua Vatukoula and Rakiraki and the surrounding areas till the end of the line are without power at the moment.
It said their engineers and technicians are currently working on repairing the transformer and this may take some times.
Power will be restored as soon as the transformer has been repaired but no time frame has been given.
Meanwhile, due to the power blackout the Water Authority of Fiji is calling on people in the affected areas to store water now.
Spokesperson Maika Nagalu confirmed that the water cuts are expected in Tavua and Rakiraki.
