Power Restored this hour
The FEA has assured that the power supply in the Central/Eastern Division will normalize soon as thousands of residents in the division are facing a power blackout from this morning.
FEA confirms that the planned power shutdown for this weekend has been deferred to another date due to technical problem to generation sets at Kinoya and whole of the Central Division will experience intermittent power supply. FEA engineers are currently getting power from Wailoa Power Station in Monasavu to supply to affected areas.
No timeframe has been given by when electricity supply will be normalized as the FEA engineers are working on the fault.
Areas affected are parts of Suva/Nausori corridor and Lami.
Meanwhile, Fiji Retailers Association President, Himmat Lodhia has raised concern that businessmen in the Central Division especially in Suva lost a lot of sales today.
Meanwhile, Residents living in the Suva/Nausori corridors will have to wait a lot longer to get their water supply back to normal.
This is after the PWD revealed that as a result of the Power blackout water supply was disrupted.
Water Supply Department spokesperson Maika Nagalu said that once the power supply will be back it will take 18 hours before water supply will be normalize.
