Gospel High School sensation and 2013 Coca-Cola games intermediate boys sprint champion Aaron Powell is aiming to break Banuve Tabakaucoro's 100 metres record of 10.71 seconds that was set in 2009.

Last year, Powell won the intermediate boys 100 metres with the time of 11 seconds but the new age grading system may be an advantage and a chance for him to achieve his dream.

Powell said he was aiming to run in the blue ribbon event this year but his third year in the intermediate grade can open some other opportunities.

Powell added that his best mate Jacob Waqanivalu of International school Suva will be a threat to him.

The inter-boys 100 metres and 200 metres events will be one to look out for where Powell will be competing against Jacob Waqanivalu of International School Suva and Peceli Galuvakadua of Suva Grammar School.

Powell's best time in 200 metres is 21.8 seconds.

The Coca Cola Games will be held on the 25th and 26th of April.
