The Poverty Eradication Unit is expected to meet at the end of next week to further discuss issues about poverty in the country.
Director, Dr. Tokasa Leweni said following the workshop on Tuesday the unit is expected to bring in key people on board to map out ways on how to tackle the poverty in the country.
She said it has already cost the government about $1.5 billion for activities and programmes driven towards poverty alleviation however poverty continues to rise.
The latest survey reveals that about 40% of the country’s population lives below the poverty line.
