The Post Fiji Limited board is hoping to reach an agreement with the Fiji Post and Telecom Employees Association by this afternoon to avert the threat of strike action.
Acting Managing Director Sepeci Tora said they hope to find a solution by the end of the special board meeting currently underway.
Meanwhile, Telecom Fiji Chief Executive Taito Tabaleka stressed that they are not in the position to give their workers pay increments and COLA.
The Association is still hopeful that Post Fiji and Telecom Fiji management will have talks to avert the looming strike action next month. General Secretary Attar Singh said they will take necessary steps under the new Employment Relations promulgation before taking strike action.
The union has indicated that their 1,200 members around the country will start taking secret ballot for strike action on the 19th of next month.
