The announcement by Post Fiji Limited to implement a 10 percent pay cut for its staff nationwide has been withdrawn late yesterday evening.
Post Fiji Spokesperson Merelita Isimeli confirmed to Fijivillage late last night that after consultations between the CEO Joape Kuinikoro and the Public Enterprise Ministry, they have decided not to implement the pay cut.
Post and Telecom Workers Union General Secretary Attar Singh who was contemplating industry action on the pay cut decision said they are relieved.
The decision to withdraw the pay cut was made only hours after Post Fiji announced that due to the slow revenue turnover of the company which has resulted in a very unexpected and disappointing financial result, they will implement the 10 percent pay cut until January 1st 2010.
