People living in low lying areas around the country are advised to take precautions as the Nadi Weather Office warns of possible flooding tonight.
Deputy Director Alipate Waqaicelua confirms that due to an active trough of low pressure moving over the Fiji group, they have recorded significant rainfall in many areas and flooding of low lying areas is expected.
Waqaicelua said they expect the current weather situation to remain with the possibility of flooding until tomorrow afternoon.
He said while it is difficult to pin point the exact areas which are expected to experience flooding, continuous heavy rain is forecast for the entire Western division including the coral coast and the South Eastern parts of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
Meanwhile, Kings Road near Tailevu is closed to all traffic.
The Engineer Road, Naren Rama said Waitoa bridge is under repair and he is calling on drivers not to use Kings Road near Tailevu.
