People living in the low lying areas are being asked to be on alert as a trough of low pressure over the country should see flash flooding today.
Duty Weather forecaster, Samisoni Waqavakatoga said the trough currently over the Western Division sees the low pressure system is gradually moving eastward and rain and thunderstorm will be experienced today.

Looking at the weather forecast: Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few squally thunderstorms over Viti Levu and gradually spreading eastwards to the rest of the group.
Flooding of low lying areas possible, rain easing in the west later today.
For Central Division / Nausori and the West: Occasional rain, heavy at times with few squally thunderstorms, rain easing to showers later today.
