The World Health Organisation and Health Ministry are now exploring the possibility of vaccinating people against Typhoid, especially those in the cyclone affected areas.
WHO=s Communicable Disease Surveillance Team Leader Dr Jacob Kool said while it may be an expensive exercise, vaccination against typhoid is the best option to prevent an outbreak of the disease.
Dr.Kool said an outbreak of typhoid will be a major concern in the areas badly hit by Hurricane Tomas.
