As part of its Education Assistance Project, the Poor Relief Society has identified a total of 281 students around the country who are in need of assistance.

Society President Sabita Gandhi said they had sent letters to schools that needed assistance and the total assistance needed by the students amounts to more than $32,000.

Gandhi said the areas students needed assistance were library fee, sports fee, building and maintenance fee, book fee, vocational training fee and computer courses.

She added a team is out in the western division to assist 174 students and are expected to pay $11,268 as their fees while a team will be paying a visit to seven schools in the Northern Division at the end of the week to assist 106 students, 22 students in the Central division have already been assisted.
