The District Advisory Councilor of Qelewaqa said that this is the fourth time in three years that they have been affected by flash flooding and all this is due to a newly constructed bridge and the poor drainage problems.
Speaking to Village News, Councilor Surya Narayan said he has raised concern about these issues with the higher authorities, however, nothing has been done as yet.
He also said that a lot of people have been affected by this morning's flash flooding and some have lost a lot.
He is calling on the government to look into these issues.
