People of Vanua Levu have chosen wrong leaders and as a result they are unable to prosper and now remain under the poverty line.
These are words of Fiji Council of Social Services Executive Director Hassan Khan who said that leaders now need to change and people of Vanua Levu now need to look for ways to better their lives.
Khan believes Non Governmental Organization's role now should be to direct donor agencies to assist in the education sector.
An analysis of statistics from 2002 to 2005 by Dr Wadan Narsey revealed that the Northern Division is the worst off with 53% of the people living under the poverty line.
