Government has put in place policies to provide equal opportunities for both boys and girls to have access to education, scholarships for tertiary education, free bus fare and text books.
While launching the International Woman’s Day at Suva’s Civic Center yesterday, Woman’s and Poverty Minister Dr. Neil Sharma said the Woman’s Action for Change has made significant development despite facing challenges.
He said government has implemented policies to bring about gender equality in the country.
Dr. Sharma highlighted new crimes decree and domestic violence decree has been implemented to safeguard woman in the society.
