The Fiji Police is now looking at ways to reconcile the difference between the villagers of Nasavu and Nailuva in Ra after a man was killed when a brawl broke out between the men from the two villages.
Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri said a team is based at the villages and is speaking to the headmen to ensure people do not take the law into their own hands.
Meanwhile, 13 men remain in police custody this afternoon charged with assault and damaging property over the brawl between villagers of Nasavu and Nailuva in Ra as police continue to interrogate others over the death a man during the incident.
Sokomuri confirmed a total of 45 men from the two villages were taken in for questioning and their investigations into the death continue.
The 13 men will appear in the Rakiraki magistrate’s court tomorrow morning.
It is understood that a brawl broke out between the two groups over past differences.
