Police has encouraged all village chiefs or Turaganikoro to look into ways to stop the illegal production of home brew which results in social, economic and family problems.

Police Spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri said the tragic incident in Nawi, Savusavu this week which caused the death of a 24yr old Iowane Urai was after a homebrew drinking session and this should be a lesson to youth of its consequences.

Meanwhile, a team of police forensic unit from Labasa is in Nawi today to carry out investigations while Police are also awaiting the Urai's post mortem results which will be carried out at Taveuni Hospital.
